The Jasien Home
7421 Dunquin Court

A Classic Clifton Home for a Classic Clifton Family. The Jasien family was featured in the December 2018 Edition of Clifton Living Magazine.
The Jasien Home is a sprawling country classic situated on 6.5 Acres in the Glencairn neighborhood of Clifton. Once a turn of the century white farmhouse and 100 acre cattle farm, it belonged to Earl and Mary Lee, early Clifton Store owners. Kathy and Bill purchased the current home in 1996 and it has been an idyllic setting for raising their four children in Clifton.
Within walking distance of the town of Clifton, the family has enjoyed many walks to Clifton Park, Peterson’s Ice Cream, the Pub, and all the downtown events. The faint whistle of the train behind the home gives the complete Clifton experience while visiting the property.
As you enter the home you will discover a wonderful family setting. A horse yoke converted into a mirror in the entry hall was a wedding gift to Bill and Kathy. Bill’s office is complete with military items to honor their three sons who represent the Army, Marines, and Naval Academy. You also will see signed photos from Bill’s time serving as Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Treasury under President George H.W. Bush 41.
The Clifton Barn Sale is held each year in the barn. Kathy’s Barn Sale business boasts hand-painted furniture pieces, accessories, and seasonal decor. Kathy’s sense of style is evident throughout the home with her eclectic mix of modern, traditional and found items. In the family room, everyone can “hang out” on large comfortable sofas and enjoy family time. Occasional pieces from Kathy’s business are artfully mixed into this family space.
The large open kitchen has special touches such as antique corbels, turned legs on the island, and a refurbished antique dining table. An original Wahl painting of the Statue of Liberty is a nod to the family’s patriotism.
Kathy cleverly reversed her formal living and dining rooms. She uses the larger of the two rooms as dining space for special family gatherings. The dining room features an interesting antique buffet from Poland that belonged to Bill’s grandparents. The smaller room is the Hemingway Room decorated with a pineapple and palm tree motif.
The bright sunroom was used this past summer as the dressing room for the bride and bridesmaids when the Jasien’s son was married on the property. This room also features a piano from Kathy’s childhood and her grandmother’s hutch.
As you enter the lower level of the home you will see an antique trunk collection and a nautical theme giving this space a fun vibe. The workout area was in full use as the kids kept in shape for sports during their time at Robinson and Paul VI. Access to the swimming pool and the gazebo make this the perfect spot for gathering with family and friends.

The flower arrangements were designed by
