The Paris Home
10024 Lake Occoquan Drive

The Paris home is one of the most interesting homes you will ever visit! Karen and Cliff Paris purchased their five-acre property in 1998 and named it “Lion Sky”. You will be greeted by lion sculptures as you enter the driveway. When the sun goes down every evening, it begins as a prominent fireball and gradually takes on the appearance of a lion’s mane as it sets over the Occoquan River.
In the driveway, you will see Cliff’s 1966 Chevy Impala Convertible and a 2010 Limited Edition Transformer Camaro; and entering the home you will be drawn into Cliff’s Music Room. The central piece is a 1963 grand piano once owned by Alexander Courage, on which he composed the theme to Star Trek. The music room also is the home of Samurai armor from the Muromachi Period 1400-1596, a Japanese sword from 1474, a Kabuki theatre scroll from approximately 1870, and many other collectibles.
You will pass by the colorful peacock-themed dining room as you enter the Loggia, a long hallway with a glass opening spanning the back of the home and overlooking the pool. In this area of the home, you will first realize that every item in the Paris home was selected with purpose. Each fantastical Michael Parkes painting is a symbol of love, strength, and whimsy –key emotions that can be felt throughout the Paris home.
The Grandma Room features Karen’s maternal grandmother’s bridal dress from the late 1800’s, her sewing machine, quilts, and trunk. Karen’s Dressing Room is a “She Shed” extraordinaire! It houses clothing, accessories, and fabulous signed concert memorabilia from Karen’s favorite artists, such as Styx, Stevie Nicks, Joan Jet, 38 Special, and Foreigner.
You will step back in time as you enter Cliff’s Sherlock Room. Cliff designed his Sherlock Room as a set for a short film he created entitled “The Inventor.” The room is complete with historically accurate props such as the radio, phone, pipes, English bobby helmet, bowler hat, and swords. There is also an original photo proof of Edgar Allen Poe purchased at auction.
As you descend to the lower level of the home, you will see an homage to the Paris’ favorite sports team, the Washington Capitals. The Game Room will fill you with wonder as you see television and movie props from “The X-Files,” signed sports memorabilia, and photos of Cliff acting on the television series “Homicide: Life on the Streets.”
Karen’s Meditation Room is an eclectic spiritual space. Karen is an interfaith minister and Reiki Master Teacher for Energy Healing. The Paris’ Master Bedroom is reminiscent of a trip they took to Yosemite Park, full of beauty and energy. The room features a large four-poster bed with an array of candles, crystals, and feathers which move love and energy within the home.
Karen and Cliff love to share their home and the Kitchen and Family Room are the gathering place for many neighborhood, club, and business events. More original artwork featuring lions reminds you of the beautiful sunset from the family room windows at Lion Sky. The Paris Home is a feast for the eyes, the imagination, and the spirit!
Please park on the street.
