The Masonic Lodge represents over 130 years of Freemasonry history in Clifton. It is one of the town’s original buildings, constructed as a saw mill on Pope’s Head Creek in the 1870’s. The Freemasons purchased the building in 1903 at a cost of $250. It was moved to its present site in 1920, and the next year became the first building in town to have electricity installed. It has been registered as an Historic Landmark since 1985.
