This elegant four-story Georgian Style Colonial home was built in 1996 by local builder, James Gordon Kincheloe, who built many of the homes in Wyckland. Designed to replicate Shirley Plantation, Virginia’s oldest plantation on the James River, settled in 1638, the Smith home includes a mansard style roof with five dormers and a pineapple on the peak of the roof. The pineapple is the colonial symbol for hospitality. Another accurate colonial period detail is the extra thick 2×6 walls of the entire home.
